FAQs about Working Together

What services do you offer?

1

The majority of Strand + Strategy’s projects fall into communications and change management consulting, building strategic communications plans, or crafting quick ad-hoc pieces (Think press releases, blog posts, website copy, articles, annual reports, webinar scripts). Strand + Strategy’s Owner, Paige, also offers training support and interim leadership to upskill teams or manage interim role vacancies. Visit the Services page for details.

Do you offer one-time projects or ongoing support?

2

Strand + Strategy Communications takes on one-time projects and ongoing projects, and Paige is willing to discuss all opportunities. If Strand + Strategy Communications isn’t able to take a project on, Paige can often recommend contractors and businesses who may be able to help. To learn more, send a message through the Contact page. Please anticipate a possible 72-hour turnaround for new inquiries.

Where are you based and where do you work?

3

Strand + Strategy Communications is based in New Westminster, BC. Paige supports clients across Canada and for the majority of work, operates on a virtual basis across several time zones. She is available in-person for training and speaking opportunities, as well as the occasional on-site visit.

What does the process look like of working together?

4

Upon receiving interest, a free discovery call will be established to understand needs, scope, and timeline. After, a project plan will be developed for review and sign-off that includes scope, pricing, project details, and expectations. Once complete, an agreement will be sent, followed by an onboarding call to kick off the project. In this call, Paige will update on next steps and shape communication and future check-ins around client preference (Example: “Do you prefer receiving calls, texts, meetings, or an email update for staying informed on progress?”).

FAQs about Consulting and Change

What does a consultant do?

1

A communications consultant acts as your brand’s creative and strategic partner, guiding the organization in the direction of its goals by collaborating in copy, content, change management and leadership that aligns with the organization’s identity.

How do I know if I need help?

2

One way to know is when your business performs stagnantly because you’re doing more planning than producing content, or yielding more business results. In our blog, we uncovered four situations when to call in a communications consultant to support your growing business.

What is change management and why does it matter?

3

Where project management is focused on deliverables and completion, change management is focused on the people-side of a project and understanding that a project’s success requires a team effort to maintain results. For example, an organization that implements a new intranet like Slack or Jostle is not successful if employees are not engaging and communicating clearly on it.

As organizations stressfully navigate change, a consultant can uncover the root behind employee resistance through strategies like transparent messaging, customized training for different learning styles, and feedback channels.

In ‘How Leaders Can Move Past Change Fatigue and Better Support Their Teams’, Paige talks about her experience in setting up a feedback loop for a company with a similar problem.

Do you ever consult for smaller organizations and start ups?
